Mrs. Chen is a friend of Eddie Brock and the owner of a convenience store in the Chinatown District of San Francisco. After being saved by Eddie and Venom, who turned vigilantes, Chen befriended the symbiote, helping the duo if necessary.

Biography

First Robbery

Chen greeted Eddie Brock as he entered her store, scolding him for not trying the meditation of her cousin in Hong Kong to help himself. Following this interaction, a man with a gun came in, asking for his regular payment, which she gave him. After the thug left, she wearily told Eddie that life was unfair before Eddie left the store.

Robbery of Mrs. Chen's Store

A short time following the death of Carlton Drake/Riot, Eddie visited her store again to which Chen greeted him. The armed man came in again, but before she could hand anything over, Eddie intervened as Venom, much to the shock of Mrs. Chen. After Venom ate the armed man, Eddie explained to Mrs. Chen that what she just witnessed was a parasite that he had and left, much to the annoyance of Venom.

Making a Deal

After learning about Venom's existence, Chen made a deal with Eddie, so he would protect her as Venom for the exchange like chocolate supplies.

Encounter with The Spot

Some time later, a being from another universe named The Spot opened a portal to Mrs. Chen's Store, which annoyed Mrs. Chen. He claimed to Chen that he was becoming a 'trans-dimensional super-being'. He and told her reaction was making him think that unusual events like these happened often around her. The Spot asked Chen for a pack of gum, which she refused. The Spot then stole one, claiming that he was a 'bad guy', before disappearing in front of her.
